THE HEART BEHIND THE TABLE
Meet Cee.
Cooking has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started learning around age eight, watching my mom and grandmother, both from North Carolina, prepare meals for our family. Some of my favorite memories are of being in the kitchen with them, learning a little more each time.
My grandmother also catered, so I got an early glimpse of the work and care that go into sharing food with others. Those moments stayed with me. Later, I studied Culinary Arts in vocational high school, where I explored different cuisines and grew even more passionate about cooking.
Life took me in another direction when I joined the Army. I set aside cooking as a career, but I never stopped loving it. Now, as an Army veteran, I’m finding my way back to something that has meant so much to me since childhood.
That’s how Comfort by Cee began. I want every meal to offer more than a plate of food. I want it to bring the warmth of a Sunday dinner, a family gathering, or a favorite dish from Grandma’s kitchen.
If something I make brings back a good memory, even for a moment, then I’ve done what I set out to do.
